Liner Installation & Relining in Nashville, Tennessee
Stainless liners sized to the appliance, which is what makes an old chimney safe for a modern insert.
Nashville's Chimney Sweep connects homeowners across Middle Tennessee with licensed, insured chimney sweeps for liner installation & relining. Estimates are free and written, the price is agreed before work starts, and the workmanship is backed in writing.
What the job usually involves
Every property is different, which is why the estimate comes after somebody has actually looked at it rather than before. What does not change is the process: assess, explain the options in plain language, put the scope and price in writing, then do the work to that scope.

Liner Installation & Relining, in practice
A liner is sized to the appliance, not to the chimney. Too large and the flue never gets hot enough to draw properly, so it condenses and produces more creosote; too small and it cannot vent. An oversized flue is the most common cause of a fire that will not draw.
Most Nashville houses with original clay flues were built for an open fire. Put a modern high-efficiency insert into one unlined and it will not vent correctly — the exhaust is cooler and the flue is far too big for it.
Insulation around the liner is not an upsell in this climate. An uninsulated liner in an exterior chimney runs cold, and a cold flue condenses exhaust into creosote faster than anything else you can do wrong.
We inspect with the camera again after fitting. A liner that was kinked going in is worth finding on the day rather than next season.
